Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem is intensifying his preparations for the upcoming Asian Athletics Championship in Korea, set to take place from May 27 to 31. This will be his first major competition since his historic victory at the Paris Olympics.
Training at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore, Arshad revealed his focus is not on competing against others, but on constantly improving himself. With unwavering confidence, he shared his goal to deliver his best performance in every event, believing that his peak form can secure gold medals.
Looking beyond the Asian Championship, Arshad has set his sights on achieving success at the World Championship, Asian Games, Diamond Leagues, and ultimately the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. He emphasized that while the Asian Championship is crucial, his long-term strategy revolves around excelling in these prestigious events.

Arshad’s coach, Salman Iqbal Butt, expressed optimism over his consistent progress over the past five to six months, highlighting the importance of maintaining that momentum. Butt further stated that the team views every competition with equal importance, and the pressure of major events helps push athletes to deliver exceptional performances.
Arshad, who became Pakistan’s first-ever individual Olympic gold medalist, has already won numerous medals in global competitions, including the World Championships and Commonwealth Games. With his eyes set on further victories, he is poised to continue representing Pakistan at the highest levels.
