Multan Sultans defeated Karachi Kings by three runs in the 11th match of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Multan Cricket Stadium. Multan Sultans batted first and set a mammoth target of 197 runs, thanks to a century from Mohammad Rizwan.

Karachi Kings were restricted to 193-5 in their 20 overs, with Abbas Afridi defending 22 runs in the last over to secure victory for his side. James Vince and Matthew Wade put on a 72-run partnership for Karachi Kings in reply to the target. Vince scored a half-century in just 20 balls, hitting six fours and four maximums. However, he was dismissed after a mix-up between him and Haider Ali.

The left-arm spinner Usama Mir and Khushdil Shah took one wicket each, while Abbas claimed two wickets for Multan Sultans. Earlier, Shan Masood and skipper Rizwan put on an 85-run partnership for the first wicket before Rizwan scored a century to help Multan Sultans set the target of 197 runs.

In conclusion, Multan Sultans put up an impressive batting display and then held their nerve in the field to secure a thrilling victory over Karachi Kings. Mohammad Rizwan’s century proved to be the difference between the two sides as Karachi Kings fell just short of the target.

It was a well-fought contest between two quality sides, with some excellent performances from individual players on both teams. The victory has put Multan Sultans in a strong position in the tournament, while Karachi Kings will be looking to bounce back in their next match.
