The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has expressed his hope for a Pakistan-England final in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Sadiq Khan shared his light-hearted approach to supporting cricket teams, stating that he usually backs the winning side to ensure he never loses.
He expressed optimism for an exciting and safe tournament, set to begin on 19 February, with Pakistan facing New Zealand in Karachi.
Khan highlighted the highly anticipated clash between Pakistan and India on 23 February in Dubai, a fixture known for its intense rivalry.
He also humorously suggested that selectors from both Pakistan and England could reach out to him if they needed a player.
The mayor hoped that Babar Azam would return to top form, while acknowledging that Australia and South Africa posed strong competition.
Reflecting on the absence of international teams in Pakistan over recent years, Khan hoped the event would be a success, boosting cricket in the country.
His comments followed his attendance at a British Asian Trust event supporting South Asian development.
