Karachi Kings pulled off one of the most remarkable chases in Pakistan Super League (PSL) history, defeating Multan Sultans by four wickets in their opening match of PSL 10 at the National Bank Stadium.

Set a daunting target of 235, the Kings completed the chase with just four balls to spare.

James Vince played a central role in the successful pursuit, smashing a blazing 101 off 43 balls, which included 14 fours and four sixes.

His dominant knock was well supported by Khushdil Shah, who scored 60 off 38 deliveries. The pair added 142 runs for the fourth wicket, keeping Karachi well on course.

Although both set batters were dismissed in quick succession late in the innings, Karachi managed to hold their nerve.

A calm and timely partnership between Irfan Khan and Abbas Afridi sealed the win on the second delivery of the final over.

The encounter broke several records. It marked the highest successful T20 chase by a team that lost three wickets in the Powerplay and became the third-highest successful chase in PSL history.

Vince’s hundred also ranked as the third-fastest in the league.

Earlier, Multan Sultans posted an imposing 234 for 3 after being asked to bat first.

Skipper Mohammad Rizwan anchored the innings with a commanding 105 not out off 63 balls.

He found good support from Kamran Ghulam (36) and Michael Bracewell, who struck a fiery unbeaten 44 from just 17 deliveries.

Karachi’s bowlers had a tough time containing the flow of runs, with Hasan Ali, Abbas Afridi, and Khushdil Shah each picking up a wicket.

Despite the uphill task, Karachi Kings’ fearless batting display turned the game in their favour, delivering one of the most memorable wins in PSL history.
