Junior chess champion Mehak Maqbool showcased her exceptional talent by defeating Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in a friendly match.

The young chess prodigy, a student at a government school, secured victory in just 15 moves.

The match was organized to recognize her recent achievements and was attended by Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah, Sports Minister Muhammad Bakhsh Mehar, and other officials.

CM Murad Ali Shah had personally invited her to play, acknowledging her success in national-level competitions.

Mehak recently claimed the Under-18 title, cementing her position as Pakistan’s leading junior chess player.

Her swift win against the chief minister further highlighted her strategic skills and composure under pressure.

Murad Ali Shah praised dedication of Mehak, particularly her ability to balance academics and chess while studying in a public school.

Murad Ali Shah described her as an inspiration for young students across the country.

Notably, CM has a longstanding connection with the game, having been a member of the International Chess Federation since 1992.

The Sindh provincial government pledged support for Mehak and aspiring players aiming for international success.
