Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have made their way back into the BCCI’s central contracts list for the 2024–25 season after being left out in the previous cycle.

Their return highlights a period of transition within Indian cricket as the board refreshes its list of contracted players.

The top A+ category remains unchanged, with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja continuing to hold their place.

Despite stepping away from T20 internationals following India’s T20 World Cup win in 2024, Rohit, Kohli, and Jadeja retain their top-tier status.

Veteran spinner R. Ashwin, who retired from international cricket in 2023, has been excluded from the latest list.

Rishabh Pant has been promoted to Grade A after a successful return from injury.

The wicketkeeper-batter, who had dropped to Grade B after a serious car accident in December 2022, rejoined the national team in 2024 and played across formats, earning a spot in the higher grade alongside KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Mohammed Shami.

Shreyas Iyer, now part of Grade B, was previously dropped for missing domestic games due to a back injury.

His strong performances, including leading Kolkata Knight Riders to an IPL title and contributing significantly to India’s Champions Trophy campaign, played a key role in his reinstatement.

He is joined in Grade B by Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Ishan Kishan, who had opted out of domestic cricket for a brief period, has been placed in Grade C after returning to represent Jharkhand.

New faces in this tier include Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, and Abhishek Sharma.

While the BCCI hasn’t confirmed player salaries, reported figures suggest INR 7 crore for A+, INR 5 crore for A, INR 3 crore for B, and INR 1 crore for C.
