Ihsanullah joins Peshawar Zalmi ahead of PSL X
Ihsanullah

Fast bowler Ihsanullah has joined Peshawar Zalmi for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as a supplementary player, just hours before the tournament’s official launch.

The franchise confirmed the move through an Instagram post on Friday, ending weeks of speculation.

The rumours had started earlier in the month when the pacer was seen in Zalmi training gear, suggesting he had joined their pre-season camp.

Ihsanullah first rose to prominence during PSL 8, when he claimed 22 wickets for Multan Sultans, becoming one of the standout performers of the tournament.

His impressive form earned him a place in Pakistan’s T20I squad, making his debut in March 2023.

However, his upward momentum was halted in April 2023 when he suffered an elbow injury during his ODI debut against New Zealand.

The setback kept him away from professional cricket for several months.

The 21-year-old made his competitive return in the Champions T20 Cup earlier this year, but despite his comeback, Multan Sultans chose not to retain or draft him for the upcoming season.

This allowed Peshawar Zalmi to bring him in as a late addition to bolster their bowling unit.

The PSL 10 begins today (April 11) with a vibrant opening ceremony at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The opening match will feature a clash between Islamabad United, the defending champions, and two-time winners Lahore Qalandars.

This year’s tournament will include 34 matches played across multiple venues until May 18.

Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 of those games, including both Eliminators and the final.

Fans will be keeping a close eye on Ihsanullah, as he looks to make a strong return and reignite his career in the country’s premier T20 league.
