Former Pakistan women’s cricket captain Sana Mir was given the honour of ringing the iconic bell at Lord’s on the second day of the World Test Championship (WTC) final between Australia and South Africa.
The bell-ringing ceremony is a long-standing tradition at the historic venue, marking the start of each day’s play during a Test match.
Sana, recently inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, stepped forward to carry out the ritual in front of players, officials, and fans.

Her presence at the Home of Cricket was met with warm applause, as she took part in a symbolic act reserved for distinguished figures in the sport.
The honour came just days after Sana became the first female cricketer from Pakistan to be included in the ICC Hall of Fame.
Over a career spanning nearly 15 years, she represented Pakistan in 226 matches and captained the national side in more than 100 games, becoming a key figure in the development of women’s cricket in the country.
She is only the 14th woman globally to be inducted and the eighth Pakistani overall to receive this recognition, joining the likes of Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, and Javed Miandad.
