The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced the provisional suspension of cricketer Haider Ali following his involvement in a UK police investigation.

Haider was touring England with the Pakistan Shaheens squad, captained by Saud Shakeel, from July 17 to August 6. The PCB said it was notified by Greater Manchester Police about an incident that reportedly occurred during the trip.

While the statement did not provide details on the alleged incident, it confirmed that Haider is receiving legal support to protect his rights. The board said it is committed to ensuring both the welfare of its players and adherence to legal processes abroad.

The PCB stressed that it respects the UK’s legal framework and would allow the investigation to take its course. Haider’s provisional suspension is effective immediately and will remain in place until the inquiry concludes.

Once the investigation is completed and the facts are clear, the PCB will decide whether further disciplinary action is necessary under its Code of Conduct.
