Former captain Mohammad Hafeez slammed pace trio—Shaheen, Naseem, and Haris for their poor show against India in Dubai.

Speaking to the media, Hafeez expressed disappointment over the continued struggles of pacers since the 2023 Asia Cup.

Hafeez noted their poor performances across major events, from the ODI and T20 World Cups to the Champions Trophy build-up.

He emphasized the need for change, stating that despite their talent, they had yet to prove themselves in high-stakes tournaments.

The former captain urged Pakistan to give chances to Mohammad Ali, Khurram Shahzad, Wasim Jr., Akif Javed, and Mir Hamza.

The former all-rounder questioned the impact of Babar Azam in key matches, comparing him to legend Inzamam-ul-Haq.

Looking at the performances of trio in the event, Shaheen Afridi struggled, conceding 68 runs vs. New Zealand and 72 vs. India.

Naseem Shah took two wickets against the Blackcaps but went wicketless in his eight-over spell against India.

Haris Rauf was not impressive leaking 83 runs vs. New Zealand and 52 vs. India, remaining wicketless.
