Grant Bradburn has been handed a suspended £500 fine, a formal reprimand, and a caution after being found guilty of making sexist and racist remarks.

According to a report from the Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC), Bradburn admitted to all three allegations made against him.

One accusation involved his claim that Pakistan’s cricket selections were influenced by personal relationships such as family ties or friendships, rather than merit-based choices.

Bradburn also reportedly questioned players of Asian descent about their “Cricinfo age,” suggesting doubts about the accuracy of their reported ages.

In another incident, during training, he allegedly compared the intensity of male players to that of the Western Storm women’s cricket team, which was seen as diminishing the contributions of female athletes.

Following an internal disciplinary review, Bradburn was dismissed as the head coach of Glamorgan in December after the allegations surfaced.

Tim O’Gorman, the CDC’s adjudicator, noted that although Bradburn’s comments had discriminatory connotations, there was no indication of malicious intent.

Bradburn cooperated fully with the investigation and apologised for any harm caused.

As part of his disciplinary action, he must attend an educational programme on discrimination, with his fine suspended for one year, subject to no further violations.

Glamorgan Cricket’s CEO, Dan Cherry, welcomed the ruling, affirming the club’s zero-tolerance stance on discrimination.

He also praised the internal reporting system that allowed concerns to be raised. Bradburn has yet to issue a public statement regarding the outcome.
