Veteran Namibian all-rounder David Wiese has praised the high level of competition in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season X, calling it one of the most evenly matched tournaments in recent years.
Speaking after Lahore Qalandars’ emphatic victory over Quetta Gladiators at the Pindi Stadium, Wiese shared his thoughts despite not being part of the playing XI.
He pointed out that this year’s PSL stands out for its balance, where each team appears equally strong, and results often depend on performances delivered under pressure rather than pre-match expectations.

Wiese was particularly impressed by Qalandars’ captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, whose early breakthroughs were seen as key to disrupting Quetta’s rhythm.
He described Shaheen as the heartbeat of the team’s bowling unit — consistent, dependable, and always capable of delivering when it matters.
The seasoned cricketer also touched on the absence of Afghan spinner Rashid Khan, calling it a big loss.
He said players like Rashid, who consistently impact matches, are difficult to replace.

Wiese highlighted the PSL’s growing reputation for nurturing young, fearless talent and backed emerging pacer Jahandad Khan to develop into a quality player with time and support.
Regarding his own omission from the squad, Wiese showed no disappointment, stating that team strategy comes first and he is always prepared to contribute when needed.
Summing up his thoughts, Wiese noted that the PSL is not just about star power but about rising to the occasion.
His reflections underline the league’s competitive nature and its role in pushing both seasoned and new players to deliver their best.
