Karachi Kings have announced former Australian opener David Warner as their captain for the upcoming 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

A two-time World Cup winner, Warner is recognized as one of the most formidable T20 openers.

Over the years, he has led multiple teams, including franchises in the Big Bash League (BBL).

His leadership and vast experience are expected to bring a fresh approach to the Karachi Kings squad.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Warner responded to the team’s social media post, mentioning his eagerness to join the squad.

Karachi Kings selected him as their first pick in the Platinum category during the PSL 10 Players Draft, which took place at Hazoori Bagh in Lahore on January 13, 2025.

The franchise management also extended appreciation to Shan Masood for his contributions as captain in the previous season, acknowledging his role in creating a balanced team structure.

Team owner Salman Iqbal welcomed Warner, highlighting his leadership qualities and ability to turn matches in his team’s favor.

He also praised Masood’s efforts, stating that his contribution has laid a solid foundation for the team’s future.

PSL 10 is set to begin on April 11, 2025, with the opening match between Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi.

Karachi Kings will start their campaign on April 12 against Multan Sultans at National Bank Stadium.
