Canada has officially secured its place in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup following an unbeaten run at the Americas Regional Final, held on home turf. The team’s qualification was confirmed after a commanding victory over The Bahamas, combined with Bermuda’s unexpected loss to the Cayman Islands—giving Canada an insurmountable lead in the standings with one match to spare.

Under the leadership of Nicholas Kirton, the Canadian squad maintained their form with a final-day win over Bermuda, ending the tournament three wins clear of all other teams. The clean sweep reflects the team’s steady growth in international cricket and their rising ambitions on the global stage.

This will mark Canada’s second consecutive appearance in the T20 World Cup, having also featured in the 2024 edition held in the USA and West Indies. Their back-to-back qualifications underscore a period of resurgence for Canadian cricket.

With this result, Canada joins 12 teams already qualified for the 2026 tournament, including hosts India and Sri Lanka, alongside cricketing powerhouses such as Pakistan, England, Australia, and South Africa.

The remaining seven spots in the expanded 20-team tournament will be filled through upcoming regional qualifiers. Two teams will come from Europe, two from Africa, and three from the Asia-East Asia Pacific Qualifier, scheduled for October 2025.
