The Asian Cricket Council has decided that the Indian cricket team will not receive the Asia Cup 2025 trophy, according to reports from local media. The trophy will remain at the council’s office in Dubai after the Indian players refused to accept it from ACC President Mohsin Naqvi following the final against Pakistan.

India won the match by five wickets but delayed the post-match ceremony by refusing to take the trophy directly from Naqvi. Organisers eventually carried the trophy away, while the players stayed on the ground expecting it to be handed over later.
Sources confirmed to Samaa that India’s refusal cost them the title prize and that the decision will not be reversed.
The controversy has spread online after Indian players Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill posted edited images showing themselves celebrating with a trophy. Captain Suryakumar Yadav also faced questions from reporters but avoided addressing the missing trophy directly, only saying that his side “felt the trophy” through their performance.
