The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to resume on 17 May, following a brief suspension due to security concerns. The announcement came from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also used the opportunity to deliver a pointed message amid recent regional hostilities.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Mr Naqvi declared that the league was returning “from where it stopped,” adding the phrase “6 teams, 0 fear.” His words appeared to echo Pakistan’s military claim of downing six Indian aerial assets earlier this month during a reported breach of airspace.
According to Pakistan’s armed forces, the incident, which occurred between 6 and 7 May, resulted in the downing of three Rafale jets, a Sukhoi SU-30, a MiG-29, and a drone. Officials said no Pakistani aircraft was harmed in the exchange. Indian authorities have yet to issue a public response.

The PSL’s 10th season was postponed shortly after tensions escalated, with the PCB citing national security as the reason for the interruption. However, Mr Naqvi stated the board was now ready to bring cricket back to fans across the country.
He emphasised that the spirit of the game would be celebrated once more, offering his support to all six franchises and their supporters who had waited during the break.
The remaining eight matches will be played in Lahore and Karachi under increased security. The league will conclude with the final scheduled for 25 May, marking the end of what has been an intense and politically charged chapter in the tournament’s history.
