In a recent ceremony, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal praised the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for sacrificing its “political capital” in the best interest of the country. Iqbal highlighted that the PML-N has consistently prioritized development projects and has maintained its commitment to progress.

Taking a dig at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Iqbal criticized their actions, suggesting that the party has caused harm to the country. This statement reflects the ongoing political rivalry between the PML-N and the PTI.

Meanwhile, former Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz launched a fresh attack on PTI’s leader, claiming that their flawed policies have pushed people to the brink, leading to suicides. Hamza emphasized that the PML-N government worked diligently over the past 15 months to address the issues arising from the PTI-led government’s negligence.

Hamza also highlighted the significance of the country’s agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in preventing it from defaulting. He acknowledged the efforts of the Prime Minister in negotiating with the IMF Managing Director, stating that without these negotiations, the country may have faced a severe economic crisis.

The remarks made by Ahsan Iqbal and Hamza Shehbaz illustrate the ongoing political discourse in Pakistan, with the PML-N and PTI exchanging criticisms and defending their respective positions. These statements reflect the different perspectives on governance, policies, and the overall performance of the parties.

As political rivals continue to engage in verbal sparring, it remains to be seen how these exchanges will impact the political landscape in Pakistan. The upcoming general elections will serve as a crucial battleground for parties to showcase their achievements and win the support of the public.
