Beaconhouse National University Launches CCES Initiative to Combat Climate Change

Lahore, Pakistan – Beaconhouse National University Launches “CCES” Go Green Campaign to Promote Environmental Sustainability in Pakistan BNU, a leading art institution committed to education and social responsibility, has taken a monumental step towards environmental sustainability by launching its initiative.

The program aims to inspire communities through activities like sowing seeds all over the campus, planting trees and partaking in activities such as Painting Pots, Scavenger Hunting and Marches, Taking actionable steps to address climate challenges in Pakistan. 

The launch event, held at the university’s Main Ground, was attended by students, faculty, environmentalists, and community leaders who came together to pledge their commitment to a cleaner, greener future. The initiative focuses on promoting afforestation, reducing waste, and creating awareness about eco-friendly practices.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Warda Shah, emphasized the urgency of the cause.

 

“Pakistan is at the forefront of the climate crisis, and as an educational institution, it is our responsibility to lead the way in finding sustainable solutions. The Clean & Green Initiative is not just a program but a movement to inspire collective action.”

 

The initiative includes:

  • Tree Plantation Drives: Aiming to plant trees across campus within the next six months.
  • Waste Reduction Campaigns: Promoting recycling,, and reducing single-use plastics on campus and in local communities. locals about sustainable living practices.
  • Awareness Workshops: Conducting workshops to educate students and
  • Community Engagement: Collaborating with local governments and NGOs to expand the program’s impact.
  • Engaging Activities such as Painting Pots and Scavenger hunt

Highlighting the enthusiasm of the student body, One of the students stated,
