Two young motorcyclists were seriously injured late Sunday night when a high-speed Vigo, allegedly belonging to Zafar Abbas, the head of JDC Foundation, struck them while driving the wrong way in Karachi’s Ancholi area.

The double-cabin Vigo, driven recklessly against the traffic flow, attempted to take a shortcut and collided head-on with the motorcycle, which was traveling in the correct direction. CCTV footage from the scene confirms the Vigo was at fault.

CCTV Footage Disproves Initial Claim

In an initial statement, Zafar Abbas claimed the motorcycle had no headlights and appeared suddenly, causing the crash. However, police investigations and video evidence have proven otherwise — clearly showing the Vigo violating traffic laws and the motorcyclists riding in their designated lane.

Driver Arrested, Vehicle Seized

The District Central Police confirmed that the driver, a JDC office employee, has been arrested, and the vehicle has been recovered. Police stated that two security personnel were also inside the Vigo during the accident. The number plate, which fell off during the collision, helped in tracing the vehicle back to JDC.

Zafar Abbas told media:

“My office boy had taken the car to buy ice. We rushed the injured boys to a private hospital. Thankfully, they are now out of danger.”

Police have assured the public of a transparent investigation, stating that no individual or organization is above the law.
