The United Arab Emirates military leadership has praised the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for its modernisation efforts and its progress in developing advanced local technology. Both sides agreed to further boost their military cooperation through joint exercises, training exchanges and new partnerships that will support future needs.
A PAF contingent arrived in the UAE to take part in the Dubai Airshow 2025, one of the world’s biggest aviation events. This year, Pakistan is showcasing its advanced JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighter jets and the popular Super Mushshak trainer aircraft. Their presence highlights Pakistan’s growing strength in indigenous aviation and defence production.
The JF-17 Thunder is a lightweight, all-weather, multi-role fighter jet. It is capable of handling both day and night operations. The aircraft was developed through a joint effort between the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra and China’s Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation. Thanks to its features, the JF-17 has become a symbol of Pakistan’s aviation achievements.
According to the ISPR, the JF-17 Block-III became one of the main attractions at the airshow. Defence experts, aviation professionals and visitors showed great interest in the aircraft’s capabilities, especially its upgraded technology and enhanced performance.
The Dubai Airshow is held every two years at Al Maktoum International Airport, and this year’s event ran from November 17 to 21. Pakistan Aeronautical Complex is also participating, showcasing its wide range of projects including the JF-17 programme, local avionics work and its maintenance and repair services.
As part of the PAF’s display, two JF-17 Block-III aircraft were deployed. One performed in the aerobatic flying display, thrilling the audience with sharp manoeuvres, while the other stood in the static display area with a collection of its compatible weapons.
Pakistan’s strong showing at the Dubai Airshow reflects its growing confidence, capability and role in the global defence aviation industry.
