Sindh has declared September 5 and 6 as public holidays in connection with Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH), extending the federal government’s one-day holiday to two days.
A notification issued on Wednesday confirmed that all government offices and educational institutions across the province will remain closed. Nationwide, September 6 has already been declared a holiday by the federal government.
The announcement follows the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s confirmation of Rabi ul Awal dates, after reports of cloudy skies prevented moon sighting across the country.
Eid Milad un Nabi is one of the most significant religious occasions for Muslims, marked by processions, charity drives, and events narrating the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life.
Meanwhile, Karachi Traffic Police have announced restrictions on heavy vehicles for September 11 and 12, citing safety measures for large rallies and public gatherings.
