On Saturday, three suspects were identified as the casualties of a police shootout near Saddar police station. The suspects, hailing from Faisalabad, were wanted by the police for various serious crimes, including murder, attempted murder, terrorism, and robbery.

DPO Mansoor Aman confirmed the identities of the deceased suspects as Imran Mani, Sarwar, and Sabir Hussain, all residents of Faisalabad district. These individuals had multiple cases registered against them in Faisalabad, Nankana Sahib, Okara, and other districts. Considered extremely dangerous, the suspects posed a significant threat, according to DPO Mansoor Aman. The police are actively pursuing their accomplices in ongoing operations.

After following necessary legal procedures, the bodies of the deceased suspects were handed over to their respective families. DPO Aman commended the team involved in the police encounter and announced cash prizes and certificates of appreciation for their efforts.

Police encounters have become common in Punjab, with Okara witnessing several such incidents in recent years. Last October, five suspects were killed by the police during an encounter. Four alleged robbers who had earlier killed a sub-inspector were shot dead in an alleged police encounter within the jurisdiction of Shah Bhore Police Station.

According to DPO Furqan Bilal, Sub-Inspector Sarwar Akram, who was in charge of the Farid Nagar Chowki in Pakpattan, was martyred, while two other policemen were injured when they came under attack by robbers in Pakpattan. The encounter occurred after Sarwar and his colleagues intercepted the robbers following a wedding party robbery. During the exchange of fire, Sarwar lost his life, while two of his colleagues sustained injuries. One of the bandits was killed in retaliatory fire, while the remaining six fled towards the Yusufwala area in Sahiwal.

Police teams from Pakpattan and Sahiwal initiated a pursuit of the fugitives. The robbers entered the jurisdiction of Shah Bhore Police Station in Okara, where DPO Furqan Bilal deployed a heavy police force to apprehend them. The robbers took cover in a nearby agriculture farm and opened fire on the police upon their arrival. In response, four robbers were killed, but two managed to escape.

DPO Farqan Bilal cordoned off the entire district and formed different teams to capture the escaped bandits. The bodies of the deceased robbers were taken to the DHQ Hospital under the supervision of the SHO of Shah Bhore Police Station. The police also recovered a significant amount of stolen goods, gold ornaments, and weapons from the possession of the deceased robbers. The identities of the dead robbers have yet to be established. The funeral prayers for the martyr, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Sarwar Akram of Pakpattan Police, were held at the DPO Office in Pakpattan.
