At least six people were found dead in the Mir Ali area of the North Waziristan district, on January 2, 2024. The victims were killed by unidentified assailants and worked as barbers in the area, hailing from Punjab. One of the slain men had a computerized identification card showing he belonged to Dera Ghazi Khan, according to a senior police official. All the bodies were moved to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.

This incident comes three days after at least five terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation by security forces in the Mir Ali area. The terrorists were involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces, as well as extortion and targeted killings of civilians.

The situation in the North Waziristan district has been marked by ongoing violence and tensions, with the recent discovery of six bodies highlighting the complex and volatile nature of the region. As the investigation into these incidents continues, the international community will be closely monitoring developments and working to address the underlying causes of the recent violence and unrest in the area.
