A man from Rawalakot has been taken into custody in Muzaffarabad on allegations of spying for India. Police accused him of leaking sensitive information and photographs of important locations to an Indian intelligence network.

The suspect was identified as Obaid Jahangir. Police said a case had been lodged at Saddar Police Station under the Official Secrets Act.

The FIR stated that Jahangir was suspected of receiving substantial payments in exchange for classified data. Officers said the material included images of sites considered critical to security.

Authorities confirmed that a full investigation was underway, with legal action expected to follow. They described the case as serious and warned that anyone found assisting foreign agencies would face strict punishment.

Officials declined to reveal further details, citing security reasons, but said the arrest highlighted ongoing risks of espionage in the region.
