RAWALPINDI:  Pakistan’s security forces have eliminated 14 Indian-sponsored militants during a targeted sanitization operation near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, the military’s media wing confirmed on Saturday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted in the vicinity of Sambaza, Zhob District, on the night of August 8–9, following earlier engagements on August 7–8 that resulted in the deaths of 33 militants.

The fresh offensive raises the total number of militants killed in the two-day anti-infiltration campaign to 47. Security forces also recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the neutralized militants.

“These Indian-sponsored Khwarij were attempting to infiltrate and destabilize the region,” the ISPR stated, reaffirming the armed forces’ resolve to safeguard Pakistan’s borders and prevent any attempts to undermine the country’s peace, stability, and progress.

The operation underscores Pakistan’s continued counterterrorism efforts along its western frontier, an area often targeted by cross-border militant infiltration.
