The government has reopened applications for its Hajj scheme, offering another chance to those who did not register earlier. The move follows a shortfall in submissions during the initial phase.
Figures from the Ministry of Religious Affairs show that 60.3 percent of the quota has been filled. In the last six days, 71,286 people applied at designated banks. Out of the total 118,210 seats, 46,924 are still unclaimed.

Authorities said the process will end once the quota is reached. Applicants must submit their forms and first installment by 16 August. The first payment for the long Hajj package is Rs500,000, while the short package requires Rs550,000.
Overseas Pakistanis can participate by applying through close relatives in Pakistan. They must provide a medical fitness certificate upon their return.
Officials encouraged early submissions to avoid disappointment, warning that seats could fill quickly in the coming days.
