The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has issued a forecast regarding the sighting of the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon in Pakistan.
According to SUPARCO, the new moon is expected to be born on August 23 at 11:06 am. Based on this calculation, the moon is likely to be visible on August 24, 2025.
If sighted, 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal – a significant date in the Islamic calendar marking the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) – will fall on Thursday, September 5, 2025.
Officials added that by sunset on August 24, the moon will be approximately 32 hours and 13 minutes old, making it clearly visible in most parts of the country, weather permitting.
This forecast gives an early indication ahead of the official moon-sighting announcement by Pakistan’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
