The Punjab Home Department has launched a province-wide awareness campaign to help protect children from sexual abuse, following directives from the chief minister. The initiative uses animated storytelling to teach young audiences how to recognise safe and unsafe physical interactions.
At the heart of the campaign is a newly released animated series featuring two characters, Haya and Bahadur, who guide children through important lessons about “good touch” and “bad touch” in a friendly and age-appropriate way.

The campaign carries the message: “We won’t fear those who attempt bad touch; we’ll confront them,” encouraging children to report inappropriate behaviour without hesitation.
Officials say the campaign aims to involve not just children, but also parents and teachers in the conversation. A spokesperson for the Home Department said the effort addresses an urgent need to raise awareness and empower children to speak up—whether the incident occurs at school, home, or in public spaces.

To reach as many people as possible, the campaign will run across schools, community centres, and online platforms throughout Punjab.
Authorities hope the initiative will help create a safer environment for children through early education, open dialogue, and community support.
