In the aftermath of the Khuzdar school bus bombing that martyred five people, including three children, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has issued a province-wide security advisory for all educational institutions.
The advisory, focused particularly on Peshawar and other sensitive districts, outlines2 an emergency security plan jointly developed by the education department, district administration, and law enforcement agencies to safeguard students, teachers, and school staff.

Qaiser Alam, Special Secretary for Education, confirmed that directives have been sent to district education officers (DEOs) and school heads to immediately conduct security audits of their institutions.
“All available resources will be utilized to ensure the safety of our children and teachers,” said Qaiser Alam. “We are preparing a joint security plan with help from the district administration and police.”
New Security Guidelines for Schools
According to the issued guidelines:
-
Effective entry and exit monitoring systems must be set up at all internal and external school gates.
-
Trained and armed security guards are to be deployed on campus.
-
CCTV cameras are now mandatory for real-time surveillance and monitoring.
-
Schools must hold awareness sessions for students on safety protocols.
-
An emergency alert system must be established, along with a clearly defined evacuation plan in case of security threats.
The education department emphasized the urgency of these measures and requested school administrations to submit compliance reports within the next few days.
The security alert follows the deadly suicide bombing that struck a school bus near Zero Point on the Karachi-Quetta National Highway in Khuzdar, Balochistan, on Wednesday. The blast killed at least five people — including three schoolchildren — and injured several others.

As per local law enforcement, a vehicle laden with explosives was parked along the roadside and was detonated remotely as the school bus passed by. The incident sent shockwaves across the country, triggering fear and calls for heightened security.
Authorities in Balochistan are currently investigating the attack, while the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has accused India of orchestrating the bombing through proxy networks to destabilize the region.
