The Punjab government has approved a 10% Ad-Hoc Relief Allowance for all provincial employees, from Basic Pay Scale (BPS) 1 to 22, starting July 1. The announcement was made through an official notification issued by the provincial finance department.

The raise will be applied to the existing basic salaries of government employees. The decision comes as part of the province’s broader strategy to ease the financial burden on workers due to the rising cost of living.

In addition to the salary increase, retired government employees will also benefit from a pension raise of up to 5%. This measure aims to support pensioners who are equally affected by inflation and rising expenses.

The Punjab government said the adjustments were intended to offer relief during tough economic times. Officials noted that these steps reflect a commitment to supporting both active employees and retired personnel.

The new financial package follows other recent initiatives by the province, including free transportation and lunch programs for school students.
