The Punjab government has approved a special allowance for employees of the Crime Control Department (CCD), offering them additional pay based on the 2011 basic salary scale.

According to a notification issued by the Home Department, the provincial cabinet has formally endorsed the allowance for eligible CCD officers and staff. However, the notification made it clear that the allowance would not be granted to all employees.

Those excluded from this benefit include officers serving on deputation, suspended officials, personnel on long-term leave, and those designated as Officers on Special Duty (OSDs).

The Home Department stated that this financial benefit is meant specifically for active-duty staff working directly under CCD who fulfill all required conditions. The decision is aimed at acknowledging the demanding responsibilities of CCD personnel in combating crime and countering security threats.

Officials explained that the allowance is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to motivate law enforcement teams and recognise the frontline role played by departments like CCD in maintaining peace and order.
