In an initiative aimed at promoting skill development among students, the Punjab Industries Department, in collaboration with the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), will be offering free technical courses to students of government schools during the summer vacations. The Punjab government has coordinated with the Departments of Industries, School Education, and Higher Education to organize these courses in nine divisions across the province. The divisions include Bahawalpur, Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Faisalabad, and Sialkot. By offering these courses free of cost, the government aims to eliminate any financial barriers that may hinder students from accessing skill development opportunities.
According to Amanullah, the spokesperson for TEVTA, the courses will cover a wide range of technical skills. Students will have the opportunity to learn various disciplines, including domestic electricity, heating and ventilation, plumbing, air-conditioning, tailoring, refrigeration, computer applications, beautician services, cooking, safety inspection, kitchen gardening, embroidery, and offset printing. The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission will bear the cost of these training courses, ensuring that students can enroll without any financial burden.
