Punjab Announces Teaching Intern Jobs

The Punjab Higher Education Department has announced 8,084 College Teaching Intern jobs to overcome faculty shortages in public colleges across the province. A quota has been reserved, with 5 percent for minorities, 3 percent for persons with disabilities, and 0.5 percent for the transgender community.

The interns will serve for seven months in intermediate classes and ten months in BS programs starting October 1, 2025, or until permanent staff are hired. Applicants must hold at least a BS or Master’s degree, while those with MPhil or PhD qualifications will be preferred.

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of 50,000 rupees for intermediate classes and 60,000 rupees for BS classes, with payments transferred directly to their bank accounts. There is no age limit, but placements will be temporary and based on performance.

The initiative is aimed at ensuring smooth academic activities in Punjab’s colleges during the 2025–26 academic session until permanent teachers are appointed.
