PTI leader denies Elahi’s Claim of CM slot promise by Imran Khan

A Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader has denied claims made by PTI president Chaudhry Parvez Elahi that he or his son would become chief minister of Punjab if the party wins elections to the Punjab Assembly. PTI Lahore chief Sheikh Imtiaz stated that there had been no discussion on this issue during the party’s meetings and that any such talk would have been between Imran Khan and Chaudhry Parvez Elahi. Elahi had claimed that Imran Khan promised him or his son Moonis Elahi the position of chief minister if the PTI won the election. Elahi also alleged that he had given Imran Khan a signed copy of the summary on dissolving the provincial assembly and asked him to choose a date for its dissolution.

PTI’s focus is currently on building pressure on the government to hold elections in Punjab on May 14, and Sheikh Imtiaz stated that there had been no discussion about the chief minister’s position so far. PTI has given tickets to all candidates whose names were approved. Attempts to obtain comments from other PTI leaders such as Fawad Chaudhry, Mian Aslam Iqbal, and Hammad Azhar on Parvez Elahi’s observations were unsuccessful.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi held a press conference where he reiterated his claims and alleged that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had gone to London to take fresh instructions from Nawaz Sharif about their ongoing “conspiracies against the judiciary”. Elahi accused the PDM-led government of playing havoc with the country and turning the entire country into a prison, except for Islamabad. He stated that if anyone wants to stay in Pakistan, they should get bail.

Elahi further claimed that Nawaz Sharif was an absconder and that Khawaja Asif “repeats whatever Nawaz Sharif tells him to speak”. He also criticized the caretaker chief minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, stating that he is a puppet in the mould of former Sindh CM Jam Sadiq. Elahi alleged that Naqvi’s term has expired, but he and members of his cabinet are still drawing salaries from the exchequer.

Elahi also made allegations regarding an attack on his house, stating that the court had pardoned the attack, but he and his family had not forgiven anyone. He alleged that the police had taken away mobile phones, wallets, and even motorcycles of guests present at the time of the attack.

the PTI leader Sheikh Imtiaz has denied the claims made by PTI president Chaudhry Parvez Elahi regarding the chief minister’s position in case the PTI wins the elections in Punjab. While Elahi has made several allegations against the PDM-led government, including Nawaz Sharif and Khawaja Asif, PTI’s focus is on building pressure on the government to hold elections in Punjab. The article highlights the political tensions in Pakistan and the upcoming elections in Punjab.
