90% of CPEC Projects Completed, Benefits to Spread Across Region: Chinese Ambassador

Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong has praised Pakistan’s progress in counter-terrorism and economic recovery, revealing that 90% of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects are now complete.

Speaking at a CPEC seminar in Islamabad, Jiang highlighted the strong cooperation between Pakistan and China in combating terrorism and expressed confidence that security challenges facing CPEC will be resolved in due course. He stated, “The fruits of CPEC can spread throughout the region,” quoting Chinese President Xi Jinping’s vision that the corridor will benefit not only China but neighboring countries as well.

Ambassador Jiang also proposed linking China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) with Pakistan’s ‘Uraan Pakistan’ program to further expand regional connectivity, trade, and investment opportunities. He noted that the Pakistani people continue to support cooperation under CPEC, emphasizing the shared goals of both nations.

Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar echoed the ambassador’s sentiments, calling CPEC “more than just a corridor — it is a sharing of dreams and hopes” between Pakistan and China. He highlighted the project’s impact on job creation, agriculture, industry, and trade, and emphasized the development of Gwadar Port to international standards to attract investors and traders.

“CPEC is a guarantor of development, employment, security, and prosperity for the region,” Tarar said, underlining the enduring friendship and collaboration between Pakistan and China.

The seminar underscored the vision of expanding CPEC’s benefits to the entire region through strategic cooperation and mutual development initiatives.
