Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan, that killed five people, including three children, in what he termed a “cowardly act by India-backed militants.”

The deadly blast occurred early Wednesday morning at Zero Point on the Karachi-Quetta National Highway, sending shockwaves across the country. According to initial reports, three schoolchildren and two adults were martyred in the explosion.

In a statement issued from the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep grief and anger over the targeting of innocent lives, especially children. “The terrorists involved in this brutal assault in Khuzdar must be identified and brought to justice without delay,” he directed authorities.

The PM instructed officials to ensure immediate and priority medical care for the injured and called for a swift investigation to bring those responsible to account.

Sharif emphasized that the attack is “proof of India-backed elements’ hostility towards education in Balochistan.” He added: “Those who targeted schoolchildren have crossed all lines of barbarism.”

He further stated, “These terrorists, who are nurtured by Indian patronage, will be chased down and punished. Their evil designs to destabilise Balochistan’s peace will be crushed.”

The PM reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate terrorism and said those who targeted Pakistan’s future — our children — will face the full force of justice.

“The entire nation, including myself, stands in solidarity with the families of the victims,” he said, offering his condolences to the bereaved and assuring that no effort will be spared to ensure peace in Balochistan.
