PM Shehbaz Hosts Farewell for UAE Ambassador in Islamabad

The outgoing Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al-Zaabi, paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House on Monday evening.

The meeting was also attended by Defence Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kiyani, SAPM Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.

Prime Minister Shehbaz congratulated the envoy on the successful completion of his tenure and thanked him for his efforts to strengthen Pakistan-UAE relations. He praised the leadership of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, calling the bilateral ties “deep-rooted and fraternal.”

Highlighting recent progress, the Prime Minister noted the high-level visits from UAE dignitaries, the convening of the Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission, and the operational visa abolition agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders. He said he looked forward to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s official visit to Pakistan soon, which would further boost relations.

Ambassador Al-Zaabi expressed gratitude for the support he received during his nine-year tenure in Pakistan. He acknowledged the strong bonds between the two countries and assured that he would continue to work for closer ties even after his departure.
