Pakistan International Airlines resumed direct flights to Canada today, with a Karachi to Toronto service departing at 8:00 AM under its relaunch campaign.
Passengers travelling to Canada can now avail discounts of up to fifteen per cent on tickets, according to the official announcement by PIA.
A PIA spokesperson confirmed that the airline will operate Boeing 777 aircraft for Canada services, offering long-haul comfort and international travel reliability.
This resumption follows a lengthy suspension caused by regulatory and operational challenges, marking an important step in the airline’s broader international recovery plan.
Alongside this development, PIA will relaunch direct flights to the United Kingdom in October after securing all required safety and regulatory approvals.

The Department for Transport in Britain granted Third Country Operator authorisation, permitting PIA to re-enter British airspace after more than five years.
PIA has also achieved Air Cargo Carrier 3 certification, valid for five years, ensuring compliance with strict international safety and security standards.
Initially, flights will be launched to Manchester, followed by scheduled services to Birmingham and London, based on passenger demand and operational feasibility.
PIA’s UK operations were suspended in 2020 after serious concerns regarding pilot licensing irregularities and weak safety protocols raised by European regulators.
Since then, the airline has undertaken reforms, introduced rigorous audits, and implemented safety improvements to rebuild international confidence and restore lost credibility.
