Senior Pakistani journalist and television anchor Jasmeen Manzoor has come forward with serious allegations of domestic abuse, sharing photos of visible injuries and medical reports to support her claims. The revelations have sparked renewed debate around women’s safety, justice, and accountability in Pakistan.

Jasmeen posted images on social media showing a swollen eye and multiple facial bruises, which she said were caused by her former husband. Alongside the photos, she criticised those who had defended him, writing that the injuries were “a gift” from her ex-husband. In another post, she stated, “This is me. Yes, this is my story—my life destroyed by a violent man. I leave my justice to Allah.”

She also reached out to international media outlets, highlighting the broader issue. “I’m a journalist from Pakistan,” she wrote. “If this can happen to me, imagine the suffering of countless other women who receive no help.”

Jasmeen has remained active on social media, naming individuals she believes played a role in the collapse of her marriage. Earlier, on June 14, she announced a forthcoming documentary on sexual harassment, calling on survivors to share their stories.
