Pakistan has successfully hosted its first-ever drone technology exhibition, marking an important step in the country’s growing tech and defence sector. The event was organised with the support of the private sector and highlighted modern drone and counter-drone technologies.
The two-day expo was held on December 3 and 4 at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad. It was organised in partnership with Drone Tech X and brought together experts, engineers, students, and industry leaders under one roof.
More than 50 local and international companies took part in the exhibition and seminar. The event was jointly arranged by the Ministry of Defence Production and Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO). Visitors were able to see advanced Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Counter-UAS technologies designed for security, surveillance, agriculture, and industrial use.
The expo showcased Pakistan’s growing capability in designing, manufacturing, and maintaining drone systems. Several locally developed drones were displayed, showing strong technical skills and innovation by Pakistani engineers and researchers.
One of the main goals of the event was to strengthen ties between academia and industry. Universities, research centers, and private companies shared ideas and explored future projects. Students also got the chance to learn directly from professionals working in drone technology.
The expo created a valuable platform for public and private sector collaboration. It helped professionals exchange knowledge, discuss new trends, and build networks for future cooperation. Many participants believe this will support innovation and boost local production.
Drone technology is becoming increasingly important in many fields, including defense, disaster management, mapping, and farming. Events like this can help Pakistan stay updated with global trends.
The successful drone expo reflects Pakistan’s commitment to embracing modern technology and supporting local talent. Organisers expressed hope that the exhibition will become a regular event and further strengthen Pakistan’s position in the global drone industry.
