The federal government has announced a major cut in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs. 12.84 per litre for the next fortnight, bringing relief to consumers and the transport sector.

According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the new price of HSD has been set at Rs. 272.99 per litre, effective from August 16, 2025.

Meanwhile, the price of petrol will remain unchanged at Rs. 264.61 per litre.

Other Fuel Adjustments

  • Superior kerosene oil has been reduced by Rs. 7.19 per litre.

  • Light diesel oil has been reduced by Rs. 8.20 per litre.

The price adjustments come amid fluctuations in the international oil market and are expected to ease some of the cost pressures on households, transporters, and businesses.

Officials said the revision was made in line with global petroleum price trends and the recommendation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
