A serving officer of the Pakistan Air Force has accused a woman of blackmail and filing false rape threats after a brief relationship that began online turned hostile, according to police in Mianwali.
As detailed in the FIR, the officer alleged that he was approached on social media by a woman posing as “Rafia from Multan.” She reportedly used an emotional story to gain his trust and convince him to meet her. The two met in April in Multan, where the officer discovered her identity was not as she had claimed. Following this, he ended all contact.
However, the woman allegedly began harassing him, demanding marriage, and eventually threatening to file a false rape case to ruin his life and military career. The officer, currently stationed at the M.M. Alam Airbase, claimed that the threats placed his personal safety and professional future at serious risk.

The FIR further revealed that the same woman had allegedly filed a similar rape case against another individual in 2021 under Section 376 of the PPC in Multan. Authorities say this points toward a pattern of legal manipulation for personal motives.
Following the officer’s complaint, police have registered a case under several sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including charges of fraud, cheating, defamation, and harassment under the Telegraph Act.
The case has triggered public debate over the misuse of social media and legal procedures for personal vendettas. Many are calling for stricter safeguards to prevent such abuse and to protect individuals from false accusations.
