Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday launched two new digital initiatives aimed at enhancing public safety and supporting women through technology. During his visit to Islamabad’s Safe City Headquarters, the minister inaugurated the Online Women Police Station and unveiled the 1Info mobile application.

The Online Women Police Station is dedicated to handling complaints specifically from women and is operated entirely by female staff, including call operators, first responders, and investigation officers. All services are available through the 1815 helpline, ensuring a more secure and supportive environment for female complainants.

Alongside this, the 1Info mobile app enables citizens to report emergencies directly via their smartphones, improving the speed and ease with which law enforcement can be contacted. Minister Naqvi praised Inspector General of Police Ali Nasir Rizvi and his team for implementing these citizen-focused services.

During a tour of the facility, Naqvi reviewed the digital surveillance systems in place and stressed the need for wider use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance policing. He stated that the goal was to make Islamabad the safest city in the country through smart technology and efficient coordination.

He also called for inter-provincial integration of Safe City systems, which would allow for real-time data sharing and stronger national security networks. Naqvi encouraged the development of more inclusive digital platforms, especially to protect women and vulnerable groups, reaffirming the government’s focus on modernizing law enforcement.
