The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a fuel cost adjustment (FCA) reduction of Rs. 4.03 per unit for K-Electric consumers, offering partial relief in electricity bills for July.
According to a notification issued on Wednesday, the adjustment applies to power consumed during April 2025 and will be reflected in billing during July. The decision allows a negative FCA of Rs. 4.0349 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), which will lower electricity charges for most consumers.
However, the reduction will not apply to all users. Lifeline consumers, domestic protected customers, those using prepaid meters, and electric vehicle charging stations are excluded from this adjustment.

The fuel cost adjustment will be listed separately in electricity bills, depending on the number of units consumed during the relevant period. NEPRA added that in cases where July bills have already been issued before the notification, the adjustment would be made in the next billing cycle.
K-Electric has been instructed to include this cost adjustment in the July bills to reflect the lower fuel charges from April usage.
