A disturbing case of alleged sexual abuse has surfaced in the Kabirwala area of Khanewal district, where a mosque imam has been accused of assaulting a female student. The incident came to light after the family of the girl filed a complaint with local police.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the accused, identified as Qari Muti-ur-Rahman of Masjid Rehmaniya Karam Pur, is suspected of targeting at least ten girls. One of the victims is reportedly pregnant as a result of the abuse.

The complaint was lodged by Muhammad Yaseen, the uncle of one of the victims, who stated that his niece had been returning home unusually late from the mosque for several days. On June 24, when she failed to come home at her usual time, the family grew concerned and questioned her.

They later visited the mosque and allegedly found the imam with the girl. The victim later admitted to being abused multiple times and said the imam had threatened her into silence, warning her of social consequences if she spoke out.

Following the complaint, a case was registered and police began an investigation. Authorities have urged parents to remain vigilant and to keep a closer watch on the safety and well-being of children attending religious institutions.
