Ministry Targets Top Talent to Shape Telecom Future

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has announced a high-level opening for the position of Research Fellow, offering a competitive monthly salary of up to Rs500,000. The role falls under the Special Professional Pay Scale (SPPS-IV) and is aimed at attracting experienced professionals in the telecom and ICT sectors.

According to officials, the appointment seeks candidates with a strong academic record and hands-on industry experience to support national policy development in the digital and telecom landscape.

Applicants must hold at least a Master’s degree or 16 years of education in fields such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, or Information Management Systems. Degrees should be from institutions recognized by Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC) or reputable international universities.

Candidates are required to have a minimum of three years’ relevant experience, particularly in telecom KPIs, stakeholder engagement, policy-making, telecom regulations, data analysis, and public presentation. Skills in teamwork and policy brief writing are also considered essential.

The position is being offered on a two-year contract, with the possibility of a two-year extension based on performance and organizational requirements.

Officials highlighted that this is a unique opportunity for qualified professionals to directly contribute to shaping Pakistan’s telecom future and strengthening policy frameworks.
