A civil engineer has taken legal action after allegedly being mistakenly flown from Lahore to Saudi Arabia instead of Karachi by a private airline, despite lacking the necessary travel documents.
Malik Shahzain Ahmed filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC), seeking compensation and a thorough investigation into the incident. He named AirSial, the Ministry of Aviation, Civil Aviation Authority, Airport Security Force, and the Federal Investigation Agency as respondents.
According to the plea, Ahmed had purchased a domestic ticket to Karachi for July 7. However, he was mistakenly boarded on an international flight to Jeddah, despite not carrying a passport, visa, or international travel clearance.

The petition stated that Ahmed was detained and questioned at Jeddah Airport before being deported back to Lahore. He claimed that AirSial provided no assistance during the ordeal and that he was forced to purchase a new ticket to reach Karachi.
His lawyer argued that the incident caused not only financial loss and emotional distress but also reputational harm and legal risk abroad. The plea further alleged that the failure to follow basic air travel protocols highlighted serious lapses in airline and airport procedures.
