In a major milestone for Pakistan’s maritime industry, Hutchison Ports, the country’s largest deep water container terminal, has successfully berthed the largest container ship in Pakistan’s history.
The massive vessel, measuring 400 meters in length and carrying a capacity of 24,070 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units), marks a new chapter in Pakistan’s shipping and trade capabilities.
The MSC Micol, a state of the art container ship and one of the largest in the world, made its first call at the port, a moment that stands as a historic achievement in Pakistan’s maritime history.
Officials at Hutchison Ports Pakistan said the successful berthing showcases the terminal’s ability to handle mega ships, highlighting its world-class infrastructure, advanced technology, and operational excellence.
