The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has proposed a major revision in traffic violation fines under the 2025–26 budget, aiming to improve road safety and enforce stricter compliance with transport laws.
According to the Finance Bill, penalties for violations by three-wheeler vehicles—such as Chingchi and loader rickshaws—are set to rise significantly. Depending on the severity of the offence, fines will range from Rs200 to Rs10,000.
A fine of Rs5,000 is proposed for those breaching route permit conditions. Repeat violations may result in doubled penalties to discourage continued misuse of public transport routes.

To address the growing concern over fake driving licenses, the bill includes fines between Rs5,000 and Rs10,000 for those caught driving with fraudulent documents.
The government also intends to tighten rules against underage driving. Teenagers below 18 riding motorcycles could face fines of Rs3,000, while those found driving cars may be fined up to Rs5,000.
These measures reflect the KP government’s strategy to tackle increasing traffic violations, reduce road accidents, and promote safer roads for all. Officials believe that stricter penalties will help create greater public awareness and encourage responsible driving behavior.
