The Punjab government is preparing to introduce a new uniform for the traffic police, marking the first such change in nearly two decades. The last time the traffic force underwent a uniform revision was in 2006, while the Punjab Police received an update in 2017.
According to police department sources quoted by City42, the new uniform is expected to be khaki in colour. Officials believe the revised design will be more suitable for the province’s changing weather and offer improved comfort and practicality for officers throughout the year.

A proposed version of the new outfit has been shared within the department, giving a preview of what traffic officers might soon be seen wearing on the roads.
The summary for this change has already been sent by the Inspector General of Punjab Police to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The move now awaits final approval from the provincial leadership. Once cleared, the new uniform will be rolled out across the traffic force in phases.
The decision is part of broader efforts to modernise the appearance and working conditions of law enforcement personnel in the province.
